The sad trend of less Pinoy band songs being listed on local radio countdowns continues… HIT-FM 99.5 (8-Ball) and NU 107 (Stairway To Seven) are the only ones left to carry the fight for our local musicians…
But we still have the 12 astig songs for this month:

1. Seven Black Roses - Chicosci
this song stayed at #1 for two weeks… coinciding with the band’s inking a distribution deal with MCA-Philippines, thus making it necessary to re-release a repackaged version of the self-titled album they independently released last June of 2006… of course, there are bonus tracks, including 7 Black Roses (To Sleep) which added to the song’s popularity among the young crowd… don’t forget to catch Vampire’s Ball, their repackaged album launch party on March 2 at Eastwood Central Plaza!!!
2. Di Ko Alam - Pumping Pluto
after their successful NU 107 run, they are now dominating the Hit-FM 99.5 charts… February definitely belongs to them on the 8-Ball countdown…. hope to see the release of their debut album soon… this song is the first Indie song to reach #1 at the PB20, staying there for one week…
3. Sundo - Imago
the second single from Blush, this haunting semi-ballad again highlights Aia De Leon’s sweet voice… #1 this week, it hopes to duplicate Taralets‘ 3 weeks stay at the top…
4. Sa Diyos - Razorback
I really don’t know if this song will precede a new album… but this is definitely a new sound for Razorback for me… i like it, but I doubt if they will stick to this style… by the way, why the sudden theme? it’s the hottest song to debut this month….
5. Prinsesa - 6cyclemind
one of the last songs to benefit from Campus Radio 97.1 WLS-FM’s support… this song is actually enjoying massive airplay, thanks to the band’s sponsor: Tanduay T5….
Still included are:
6. Panaginip - Wake Up Your Seatmate
7. Love Team - Itchyworms
8. Borrowed Time - Cueshe
9. Magbalik - Callalilly
10. Waves Calling To Embrace - Plane Divides The Sky (hot debut song this month)
11. Tatsulok - Bamboo
12. Hide And Seek - Hale
This February, the other hot shot debuts are follow-up singles:

Insekta - Queso
this song comes from their self-titled album released last year… it has the distinct Ian Tayao sound, but it also has a very astig (for me) intro… makes me think of the Gorillaz actually…

Tuliro - Sponge Cola
finally, the follow-up to Bitiw from Transit… (",) it is long overdue, and they chose a playful song… let’s see if this song will go straight to the top, too…
That’s it. Hope pinoy band songs will rank higher next month… (",)
